# Deposits and Withdrawals

### Account Creation

Speculation uses a **wallet-based account system**, meaning your **Phantom wallet is your account**.\
No email, password, or personal information is required, simply connect your **Phantom wallet** to get started. Once connected, the wallet address automatically serves as your unique account identifier across the platform.

This approach ensures full **privacy, security, and ownership** over your funds while maintaining a seamless onboarding experience.

### Deposits

To begin trading, users can deposit **USDC on Solana** directly through the **Portfolio** section using their connected Phantom wallet.

After selecting the deposit amount and confirming the transaction in Phantom, funds are credited to the user’s Speculation balance shortly after **on-chain confirmation**.

All deposits occur directly on the **Solana blockchain**, ensuring fast, secure, and verifiable transactions. When a deposit is initiated, it is processed through Solana’s high-performance network, which is capable of handling thousands of transactions per second with minimal latency. This guarantees that funds are transferred efficiently without unnecessary delays or intermediaries.

### Withdrawals

Withdrawals are managed from the same **Portfolio** interface. Users can enter the desired USDC amount, confirm the withdrawal in Phantom, and receive funds directly back into their connected wallet.

As with deposits, withdrawals are processed via the Solana network, and users only pay the standard **Solana gas fee** required to complete the transaction.

### Fees

Deposits and withdrawals on Speculation are **currently free of platform fees**. The only cost involved is the **Solana gas fee**, paid directly to the network to confirm the transaction.

This model ensures that all transfers remain **transparent, efficient, and fully user-controlled**.
